Woods loses 4-shot lead and playoff to McDowell

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell sank a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole Sunday to force a playoff with Tiger Woods in the Chevron World Challenge, then made one from 25 feet on the same hole to deny Woods a victory this year.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell sank a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole Sunday to force a playoff with Tiger Woods in the Chevron World Challenge, then made one from 25 feet on the same hole to deny Woods a victory this year.

Woods lost a 4-shot lead, falling for the first time after leading by at least 3 shots going into the final round.

LPGA

ORLANDO - Maria Hjorth won the LPGA Tour Championship with a final-round par 72 at Grand Cypress Golf Club. Her 5-under 283 total was the second closest to par for a winner this year, behind Paula Creamer's 3 under in the U.S. Open.

ORLANDO - Billy Mayfair and Ben Martin were tied for the lead at the PGA Tour qualifying school at Orange County National. The top 25 after Monday's round will earn PGA Tour cards for 2011.
