76ers Notes

OKLAHOMA CITY - Before Wednesday night's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, 76ers swingman Andre Iguodala looked uncomfortable during shooting drills.

Later, he missed his second consecutive game because of tendinitis in his right Achilles tendon.

Iguodala is expected to play Friday against the Dallas Mavericks, although before Wednesday's game he was limping slightly and often landed on only one foot - his healthy left foot - after a jump shot.

"I can't move as quickly as I've been able to, so that's what I'm trying to work on," said Iguodala, who described the pain as a "pinching" on the back of his foot. "When I play, I don't really want to have to worry about that."

When asked about playing Friday, despite the limp, Iguodala said: "I probably will, though."

Without him, coach Doug Collins started Jrue Holiday, Evan Turner, Andres Nocioni, Elton Brand, and Spencer Hawes.

The future lineup?

Before Wednesday's game, Collins discreetly referred to the possibility of playing Holiday, Turner, and Iguodala together. When asked if that meant Sixers fans could expect, at some point, a starting lineup including Holiday and Turner in the backcourt with Iguodala at small forward, Collins said: "It could. It could."

"I think Evan and Jrue are really learning how to play with one another, and before Evan was so much of a guy who stood around and watched when he didn't have it," Collins said.

Banged up

Guard Lou Williams suffered a left-shoulder contusion in the third quarter Wednesday. At the time of the injury, Williams was 2 for 11 from the field with six points.

Limited

Collins mentioned that Nocioni, who will turn 31 on Nov. 30, would be limited this season to about 20 minutes a game, "because I think it will keep him fresh throughout the year."

Missing

Forward Jason Kapono was not with the team Wednesday for personal reasons. He is expected back for Friday's game.

Activated

With only 12 healthy players on the roster, rookie big man Craig Brackins was activated for the first time in his NBA career.
