NFL: Favre will meet with league official in sexting case

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Saturday that a league official will meet with Brett Favre this week as part of an investigation into allegations the quarterback sent racy text messages and lewd photos to a Jets game hostess in 2008, when he played for New York.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Saturday that a league official will meet with Brett Favre this week as part of an investigation into allegations the quarterback sent racy text messages and lewd photos to a Jets game hostess in 2008, when he played for New York.

The NFL Network said the meeting would be Tuesday in Minnesota with a member of the league's security team.

Giants add kicker. New York signed kicker Shayne Graham because Lawrence Tynes suffered a sprained left ankle practicing kickoffs Friday. Graham was Baltimore's final cut.

Colts banged up. Backup running back Donald Brown (hamstring), receiver Anthony Gonzalez (ankle), and nickel cornerback Jacob Lacey (foot) did not travel to Washington with Indianapolis. Safety Bob Sanders (biceps surgery) and linebacker Kavell Connor (foot surgery) already had been ruled out.

Concussion test. The NFL is looking into the Army's discovery of a blood test to diagnose hard-to-detect concussions.

The test detects unique proteins that enter the bloodstream from damaged brain cells, Army Col. Dallas Hack told USA Today. It still needs U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval.
