The center, who suffered the injury during the second quarter of Sunday's season opener against the Green Bay Packers, was placed on injured reserve Monday, ending his season. Backup Mike McGlynn replaced Jackson in the game and will start Sunday when the Eagles travel to Detroit.
Jackson tore the ACL in his left knee in the second-to-last game of last season but was able to return in time for the opener. He suffered a similar injury to his left triceps in the 2004 preseason and missed the rest of the year.
Fullback Leonard Weaver, who severely tore his ACL Sunday, has not yet been scheduled for surgery, a team spokesman said Tuesday. He also was placed on IR.

The Eagles-Packers game on Fox29 was the most-watched opening Sunday NFL regular season game ever, according to the team. The game was viewed by 28 million, surpassing the Redskins-Giants game on Fox from a year ago by 2.9 million viewers.
