McNabb draws interest mostly from the Raiders

But there isn't expected to be much movement as far as the Eagles moving their starting quarterback, according to McNabb's agent, Fletcher Smith.

The Donovan McNabb trade rumors have been swirling for days, but the winds may cool down over the weekend.
That doesn't mean you can log out of your Twitter account and simply watch the NCAA tournament over the next two days. But there isn't expected to be much movement as far as the Eagles moving their starting quarterback, according to McNabb's agent, Fletcher Smith.
Trade negotiations ebb and flow, however, and just when a deal appears to be dead, it can suddenly be revived and given life.
Most of yesterday's rumors revolved around the Raiders. YahooSports! reported that Oakland was willing to deal for McNabb even if he didn't come with a contract extension. This would avoid McNabb, who is in the last year of his contract, refusing to negotiate a new deal.
McNabb would prefer not to play for the Raiders, but he may have no choice. Eagles coach Andy Reid can be loyal, but his first obligation is to the team. And Oakland may be willing to take McNabb without an extension knowing it could franchise him next off-season.
Cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has been offered up by the Raiders, according to espn.com. But the Eagles, according to the report, are reluctant to pull the trigger. The 29-year-old Asomugha is one of the best corners in the league, but he is also in the last year of his contract, one that would pay him $16 million.
If Asante Samuel would start opposite Asomugha, that would be almost $25 million in salary the Eagles had committed to their starting corners. The Eagles would also want at least the Raiders' second-round, and 39th overall, draft pick.
McNabb and Reid have not spoken in months, as of Wednesday, according to sources. But Adam Shefter of espn.com reported yesterday that McNabb had called Reid and reiterated his desire to stay in Philadelphia and not go to Oakland or Buffalo.
A team source could not verify if the two had indeed spoken.
Reid left for a vacation in Utah yesterday.
Berry to visit
The Eagles are bringing Tennessee safety Eric Berry in for visit, according to nationalfootballpost.com. The Eagles would not comment on the report.
Berry is considered one of top defensive backs in this draft class. He is also scheduled to visit Tampa Bay, Kansas City, and Cleveland - all teams with higher first-round draft picks than the Eagles.
