College Basketball: Cousins' 24 points help Kentucky cruise, 94-57
DeMarcus Cousins scored a season high of 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead fifth-ranked Kentucky (7-0) to a 94-57 win over North Carolina-Asheville last night in Louisville, Ky.
Patrick Patterson added 17 points and nine boards, and John Wall 12 points and a school freshman record of 14 assists for the Wildcats, who had little trouble with the Bulldogs (0-6) in their annual appearance at Freedom Hall.
Syracuse 92, Colgate 58 - Wes Johnson scored 19 points, helping eighth-ranked Syracuse (7-0) rout Colgate (0-6) in Syracuse, N.Y.
Georgetown 83, Mount St. Mary's 62 - Greg Monroe scored a season high of 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds, propelling 16th-ranked Georgetown (5-0) past Mount St. Mary's (3-3) in Washington.
Elsewhere: Talor Battle scored 28 of his 32 points in the second half, and Penn State withstood a furious rally by Virginia in the final minute to beat the host Cavaliers, 69-66, in the first game of the Big Ten-ACC Challenge. . . .
