NFL Up-Down Drill
There's nothing like a victory after time expires, especially when you're 2-8 and have won only twice in two seasons.
Matthew Stafford
The Detroit QB became the first rookie since 1937 to throw five TD passes in a game.
Eric Mangini
The Browns sagged to an AFC-worst 1-9. Hey, maybe he can get the Notre Dame job.
Steven Jackson
He became the first Rams running back to post five consecutive 1,000- yard seasons, gaining 116 yards on 24 carries in a loss to Arizona.
Terrell Owens
The Bills receiver set a Buffalo franchise record with a 98-yard TD reception, then emphatically dunked the ball over the goalpost. Owens made nine receptions for 197 yards, but it wasn't enough for Buffalo, which fell to Jacksonville, 18-15.
Chiefs special teams
Kansas City lost the time-of-possession and yardage categories but beat the Super Bowl champion Steelers, 27-24. The Chiefs were helped by Jamaal Charles' 97-yard return of the opening kickoff, as well as Andy Studebaker's 94-yard return of an interception.
Ben Roethlisberger
The Steelers QB was forced out of the loss to lowly Kansas City and may have a concussion. It was the Super Bowl champions' second straight loss and the fourth game in their last five in which they surrendered a touchdown on a kickoff return.
James Laurinaitis
The Rams rookie linebacker out of Ohio State made 16 solo tackles in the loss to Arizona.
Andre Caldwell
The Bengals returner fumbled a kickoff with less than one minute to play, giving Oakland the football on the 17-yard line and setting up a Raiders field goal in a 20-17 Oakland win.
Gary Brackett
The Colts linebacker (a graduate of Glassboro High) intercepted a pass by Baltimore's Joe Flacco at the Indianapolis 13 with 2 minutes, 42 seconds left to seal a 17-15 win. Indianapolis has won 19 straight regular-season games, second all-time behind New England's 21-game streak from 2006 to '08.
The Denver Broncos
They were flagged nine times for penalties (to San Diego's one) in a dismal 32-3 loss to the Chargers. It was Denver's fourth straight defeat.
Leigh Bodden
The Patriots cornerback grabbed three interceptions to lead New England past the Jets, 31-14.
Brett Favre
The Vikings QB completed a career-high 88 percent of his passes (22 for 25) for 213 yards and four touchdowns as Minnesota (9-1) routed Seattle, 35-9.
Eli Manning
The Giants QB threw for a career-high 384 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-31 overtime victory over Atlanta.
Shaun Suisham
The Redskins kicker was a perfect 13 for 13 before yesterday but missed field-goal attempts from 39 and 50 yards in a 7-6 loss at Dallas. Suisham did kick field goals of 45 and 31 yards for Washington's only points.
Al Harris
The Green Bay (and former Eagles) cornerback suffered a left knee injury in the Packers' 30-24 win over San Francisco and may be lost for the season.
