Hall of Fame bound

New Jersey Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello will be enshrined Monday night into the Hockey Hall of Fame with Steve Yzerman, Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull and Brian Leetch.

All were elected in their first year of eligibility.

Lamoriello, who is the NHL's longest-serving general manager, joined the Devils as president in 1987. He became general manager a year later and the team made the playoffs in all but two seasons since.

Hedmen sidelined

Tampa Bay rookie Victor Hedman will not be in the lineup for tonight's game against the Montreal Canadiens following a body check that left him flattened on the ice.

Hedman said he feels OK but will skip the game as a precaution.

He was rocked by a hit from Ottawa's Chris Neil during the Senators' 3-2 overtime win Thursday night. Neil took a long run and smashed into Hedman. The 18-year-old player was helped off ice and did not return to the game.

Flames' flu shots

Alberta's health board said a second person, not revealed, has been fired for helping set up a private clinic for Calgary Flames players and their families to get the H1N1 flu vaccine.

Alberta Health Services launched an investigation earlier this week into how the hockey players got shots while thousands of Albertans waited in line.

A request for a special clinic was approved by a more senior staff member, who was fired earlier this week.
