Funk has lead in England

SUNNINGDALE, England - Fred Funk shot a 5-under-par 65 yesterday for a 3-shot lead over Sam Torrance in the Senior British Open.

Funk is a tournament-record 11-under through two rounds at Sunningdale Golf Club. He has gone 36 holes without a bogey.

Tom Watson, who was 3 shots behind after play Thursday, fell to 7 back.

PGA Tour

OAKVILLE, Ontario - Jerry Kelly shot a 7-under 65 in the completion of the first round, and was 11 under overall with three holes to play in the second to top the leader board in the rain-delayed Canadian Open.

Camilo Villegas, Tim Herron, Martin Laird and Nathan Green were a stroke back at Glen Abbey.

EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France - Ai Miyazato of Japan shot a 6-under 66 to share the second-round lead in the Evian Masters.

Miyazato was at 9-under 135 with first-round coleaders Na Yeon Choi of South Korea (68), and Becky Brewerton of Wales, who bogeyed the 16th and 17th to shoot 68 at the Evian Masters club.

LODDEKOPINGE, Sweden - Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina shot a 5-under 68 for a 10-under 136 and a 1-stroke lead at the midpoint of the SAS Masters at Barseback Golf and Country Club.

USGA

BEDMINSTER, N.J. - Medalists Jordan Spieth of Dallas and Amy Anderson of Oxbow, N.D., scored semifinal victories to reach the finals of the boys' and girls' USGA Junior Amateur championships.

Spieth, 15, will play Jay Hwang, 16, of San Diego in the boys' final, while Anderson will play Kimberly Kim, 17, of Hilo, Hawaii, for the girls' crown. The championships will be played over 36 holes today on the New Course at Trump National Golf Club.
