Reading prevails on homer in 12th

READING - Kevin Mahar's two-out home run in the bottom of the 12th inning gave the Reading Phillies a 6-5 win over the Altoona Curve last night in the Eastern League.

Quintin Berry's RBI triple in the bottom of the ninth had sent the game to extra innings.

Chance Chapman pitched two shutout innings for the win.

Norfolk 3, Lehigh Valley 1

ALLENTOWN - Former Phillie Kyle Kendrick pitched nine innings and gave up only two earned runs, but he took the loss as the IronPigs fell to the Tides in the International League.

ERIE, Pa. - Jesus Montero hit two homers and drove in three runs, but the Thunder fell to the Seawolves in the Eastern League.
