Love shares the lead in S.C.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Davis Love III is back on top at Harbour Town.

The five-time tournament champion shot a 5-under-par 66 yesterday for a share of the first-round lead in the Verizon Heritage with Justin Leonard and Lucas Glover.

The 44-year-old Love has struggled to bounce back after tearing ligaments in his left ankle in September. Yesterday, he shot his best round since August.

A large group, including two-time Heritage winner Stewart Cink, was a stroke behind the leaders. Jim Furyk, ranked No. 9 in the world, was another shot back at 68.

LPGA Tour

REUNION, Fla. - Lorena Ochoa got off to a solid start in a bid for her fourth consecutive victory and fifth in six starts this year.

Ochoa shot a 4-under 68 in the first round of the Ginn Open and was a stroke behind leaders Carin Koch and Teresa Lu at Ginn Reunion Resort.

It was also the first time in a while that the field wasn't chasing the world's No. 1 player. Ochoa led from start to finish in her native Mexico last week for an 11-stroke win in the Corona Championship.

European Tour

BEIJING - Michael Lorenzo-Vera of France shot a 5-under 67 for a 1-stroke lead after the first round of the China Open at CBD International.

Lorenzo-Vera led a group of seven players at 4-under 68, including Jason Knutzon of the United States.
