Jennifer's Journey
On Dec. 24, 2005, Jennifer Anyayo came to Philadelphia with her medical guardian, Abitimo Rebecca Odongkara, to get medical treatment for severe burns on her face, chest and left hand. She suffered those wounds when rebels came to her village in Uganda about six years ago and set her family's home on fire. Jennifer received medical treatment from Dr. Craig Dufresne of Maryland and an outpouring of support from people in this country. This is her journey in America as seen through the lens of Inquirer staff photographer Michael S. Wirtz.
