New voices: Introducing 'The College Board'
A new feature is starting on tomorrow's Editorial Page. Called "The College Board," it brings together writers in and just out of local colleges and universities. They'll be writing about the world from a perspective too often missing in today's opinion pages. Here's a yearbook-style introduction to board members. Read their work tomorrow and on selected Saturdays throughout the year.
Aileen Bachant is a junior at Rowan majoring in journalism, specializing in print, editing and broadcast. Favors the Giants in the Super Bowl.
Kamala Lane is a senior at Rowan, majoring in print journalism and hoping to be a features reporter and novelist.
Kiley Austin-Young is a sophomore at Penn, majoring in English and economics. He’s also a marketing intern at Duane Morris in Center City.
Sarah E. Caldwell finished at Bryn Mawr (English, creative writing) in December and works at a major publishing house in Manhattan.
Laura Goins is a major in English and psychology at Rutgers-Camden.
Nicole Lister is a sophomore at Rutgers-Camden. She is a political science/prelaw major in a B.A./J.D. program — and works at a chocolate shop.
Nicolle Morales Kern is studying journalism at Drexel. Started university in Madrid. Passionate about photography.
Rachel Tashjian is a sophomore at Bryn Mawr, majoring in English. She hopes to work in communications.
Yashas Vaidya is a junior at Penn, concentrating on political economy. He’s interested in the world at large.
St. John Barned-Smith is an English major at Penn, hoping to be an international/national socio-political reporter. Is backing the Pats in the Super Bowl.
Karen Shuey is a senior at Temple majoring in news/editorial journalism. Looking for a job at a print news outlet.
