Where to find Latin masses

The three Roman Catholic dioceses serving the Philadelphia area already permit traditional Latin, or Tridentine, Masses. All said last week that they would review Pope Benedict XVI’s decree before making any changes in current practice.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia offers Latin Mass at two locations, one urban, the other suburban. Our Lady of Consolation parish at 7056 Tulip St. in the city’s Tacony section celebrates a Tridentine Mass on Sundays at 2 p.m.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 406 Fairfield Rd. in Plymouth Meeting celebrates a Tridentine Mass on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. The church is a chapel of Holy Saviour parish in Norristown.

In the Diocese of Camden, Mater Ecclesiae at 261 Cross Keys Rd. in Berlin celebrates all its liturgies in traditional Latin. These include weekday and Saturday Masses at 8 a.m., except for Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m.; Saturday vigil Mass at 5 p.m.; Sunday low Mass at 8:30 a.m.; and high Mass at ll a.m.

In the Diocese of Trenton, St. Catherine’s parish at 5 Shore Acres Dr. in Middletown, Monmouth County, celebrates a Tridentine Mass on Sundays at 9 a.m.
