T. Milton Street Testimony Excerpt

T. Milton Street Sr. took the witness stand in his own defense Feb. 14, telling a federal jury that he paid his taxes until he became convinced the tax code is unconstitutional. Listen to this and more.

At about 10:30 a.m., cross examination begins by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams.

At about 11 a.m., Street begins testimony about why the U.S. Tax Code is unconstitutional.

At about 11:20 a.m., U.S. District Judge Legrome D. Davis calls a five-minute recess. The jury is led out and the judge begins to talk to Street about his behavior in the courtroom.

At about 11:50 a.m., court resumes with Williams questioning Street.

At 12:12 p.m. there is a brief sidebar conference with the judge and lawyers.

At 12:26 p.m. there is redirect questioning by Ibrahim, followed by brief cross-examination by Guy Sciolla, defense lawyer for co-defendant John H. Velardi Sr. and re-re-cross-examination by Williams.

Street’s testimony ends at 12:30 p.m.
