Film
New this week: The Boys Are Back *** (out of four stars) Clive Owen shines in this potentially mawkish tale of a single father struggling to juggle a sportswriting job and raising his sons. Set in Southern Australia, the film avoids the story's pity-party pitfalls to deliver a real emotional wallop. PG-13 (loss of a parent, profanity, adult themes). - Steven Rea
