Sideshow: 15 months in jail for Boy George
Former Culture Club singer Boy George (George O'Dowd), 47, was sentenced yesterday to 15 months in jail after being convicted in a London court of falsely imprisoning a male escort. Judge David Radford said Boy was guilty of "gratuitous violence."

The singer's lawyer said his client and Norwegian escort

, 29, both behaved like "drug-crazed idiots" and that Boy's substance abuse problems were a contributing factor.
Boy was convicted in December of handcuffing Carlsen to a wall at his East London flat. The escort said Boy swung at him with a metal chain.
