A truly green exit after a bank heist

Kenneth Pagan may be a bank robber and considered "armed and dangerous" by the FBI, but he cares about the environment.

As proof, the FBI yesterday released surveillance photos showing Pagan holding up a bank in Kensington on Thursday morning - and then making his getaway on a mountain bike.

By the way, the FBI says it was the second time this month that Pagan has robbed the Beneficial Bank branch at 826 E. Allegheny Ave. Pagan, 38, is charged with robbing the same bank on Nov. 4, said J.J. Klaver, spokesman for the FBI.

In Thursday's heist, Pagan handed a threatening note to a teller, and made off with an undetermined amount of cash, according to the FBI. Outside surveillance photos show him climbing onto the bike and riding off.

Authorities said the 38-year-old Pagan was described as Hispanic, 5-foot-7, and weighing about 175 pounds. He is known to frequent the Kensington neighborhood.

The FBI said Pagan is considered armed and dangerous, and a reward is being offered for information leading to his apprehension. Tipsters may remain anonymous. Anyone with information is being asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
