Firefighter, 40, is injured responding to S. Phila. call

A 40-year-old Philadelphia firefighter was injured when he fell out of a fire truck responding to a call yesterday evening, authorities said.

The accident occurred around 6:30 at 24th Street and Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia, authorities said. The firefighter, who was not named, was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with unspecified injuries. He was reported in stable condition. - Robert Moran
