Fire rips through block of rowhouses in York
YORK, Pa. - Dozens of people were displaced after fire ripped through an entire block of rowhouses yesterday afternoon.
York Fire Chief John Senft said that there were no serious injuries but that the damage was immense. "If this happens once in an eternity, it's too often," he said.
Senft said the fire spread quickly, most likely because the houses didn't have firewalls.
It was the second fire to break out in York in the same afternoon. A scrap-metal recycling yard had a fire earlier in the day. - AP
