Gray Ford pickup still sought in road-rage case
Thomas Timko, 41, of Gloucester Township, was driving his 8-year-old daughter, Katie, home to her mother about 8:40 that night when he may have cut off another driver after going through the toll plaza at the Walt Whitman Bridge.
After an exchange between the drivers, Timko opened the moonroof of the 2001 Toyota Highlander he was driving and made a gesture with his hand, his daughter said.
Several bullets were fired through the rear window of Timko's vehicle, striking him in the right side of his forehead.
After he pulled to the side of the expressway, his daughter flagged down help, perhaps saving his life, police said.
A gray Ford pickup truck was seen exiting I-76 at Passyunk Avenue after the shooting. A photo of a truck fitting that description was taken at the Whitman toll plaza about the same time the victim's SUV went through an E-ZPass lane.
The "vehicle of interest" is a two-door pickup with an extended cab, not a four-door as previously reported.
Police want to speak to the driver, who may have been involved or who may have witnessed the shooting, police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore said yesterday.
Timko remains in critical but stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
