Martin Luther King High receives Penn grant
Martin Luther King High School in the city's East Germantown section has been awarded a $294,800 grant from the William Penn Foundation to support the school's Job Resource and Development Center over the next three years.
The grant was announced yesterday by Foundations Inc., the company that manages King High for the Philadelphia School District.
Adults at the Job Resource and Development Center introduce students to the world of work, try to motivate them to stay in school to graduate, and prepare them for adult responsibilities. The program is supported by State Rep. Dwight Evans (D., Phila.) and other business and civic leaders. - Martha Woodall
