Summerdale man charged in fatal gun battle

Police have arrested a Northeast Philadelphia man in Saturday's shooting death of a Cobbs Creek man. Shortly before 1 a.m., the victim, Robert Lewis, 53, was driving in the 5700 block of Rodman Street when an argument started with two men on the street, according to police. Gunfire erupted, and Lewis was shot in the head and body. He was pronounced dead at 1:48 a.m. at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. A .357 Smith & Wesson revolver was found after the two men fled. Sunday morning, Ramik Banks, 22, of the 900 block of Carver Street in the Summerdale section, was charged with homicide and several weapons violations. - Peter Mucha
