Southampton country fair to feature games, rides, food
The 37th annual Southampton Days Country Fair, featuring six days of fun including rides, games, live music, food, fireworks and cow-chip bingo, will be held tomorrow to Saturday in Tamanend Park in Upper Southampton.
Independence Day will be celebrated Friday with a parade at 9:30 a.m. The route will begin at Jaymor Road and Second Street Pike and proceed north on Second Street Pike to Tamanend Park, at Maple Avenue.
The parade will include a baby parade and a special procession honoring veterans. All veterans who want to participate should meet at 8:30 a.m. at the parade's starting point.
A concert featuring the group Almost Fab will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:30 at Klinger Middle School, 1415 Second Street Pike. The rain date for the fireworks is Saturday.
The country fair will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Tamanend Park. Free transportation will be available from area shopping centers starting at 6 p.m. on Friday only.

Teen program focuses
on lifestyles, pop culture
A six-hour teen lifestyle event will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at Oxford Valley Mall in Middletown.
Called "Simon dTOUR Live," the event will include presentations on fashion, technology, TV programming, food and pop culture. There will be a live performance by the rock groups Your Vegas and the Switches.

Eleven honored for conservation efforts
The Heritage Conservancy has honored 11 organizations and individuals for their commitment to conservation. The winners received a Heritage Partnership Award during the conservancy's annual Garden Party, held June 5.
Honored by the conservancy in Doylestown were Bucks County; Sidney T. Yates, of Upper Makefield; J. Glenn Eugster, who grew up in Bucks but now lives in Alexandria, Va.; Robert L. Byers, of Chalfont; John and Barbara Fisher, of Bellefonte, Pa.; Richard Gardner, John DiMaio and Everett Chamberlain of the Board of Freeholders in Warren County, N.J.; Robert Resker, director of land preservation for Warren County; Malcolm Crooks, of Solebury; and Rep. David J. Steil, who represents Lower Makefield, Newtown and Upper Makefield Townships and Newtown and Yardley Boroughs.
Fireworks and festivities
at Peddler's Village
Peddler's Village will celebrate America's birthday Saturday with live entertainment, food and fireworks.
The "Celebration of Freedom" will be from 4 to 10 p.m., with fireworks scheduled for 9:15. Admission is free. The event will be held rain or shine.
