A suspended Camden police officer was arrested Sunday in the alleged stalking of his ex-wife, weeks after he was indicted for using his influence to have her wrongly arrested on a child-custody matter, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and Camden Police said.

Shane Sampson, 41, of Williamstown, was forbidden to contact his former wife, Nooshin, as a condition of his bail following his April arrest connected to the December custody matter. He was indicted on Oct. 20 for official misconduct and falsifying or tampering with records, officials said. But Sampson contacted his ex-wife and repeatedly harassed her and male friends, authorities said. He was arrested Sunday after he was observed at her apartment complex.

Sampson, who was suspended in April without pay, faces additional charges of harassment and stalking, officials said. He was released from the Camden County Correctional Facility on Monday, authorities said. - Darran Simon
