Tow-truck driver faces charges in railroad crash
A tow-truck driver set off a chain-reaction crash yesterday in Pleasantville after he ignored flashing lights at a railroad crossing and his truck was hit by a slow-moving train.
The flatbed tow truck spun out at 2:40 p.m., hitting two parked cars and three pedestrians, Pleasantville police said.
Injuries to the pedestrians and the truck driver all were considered moderate to minor, police said. The collision happened on Route 9 between the Black Horse Pike and Washington Avenue.
The truck driver, Frank Guenther, 22, faces multiple citations. In addition to ignoring warning signals at the crossing, he drove around a car stopped at the railroad tracks, police said. - Troy Graham
