Weekend Planner: Sunday, July 20
The region remains in the midst of "an excessive heat watch" through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service
Now, that doesn't mean forecasters have trained binoculars on the heavens and are scanning the skies for little falling heat bombs.
An "excessive heat watch" just means that a prolonged period of hot temperatures, combined with high humidity, can create a "dangerous situation in which heat related illnesses are possible," according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters are calling for a high of 92 and a chance of thunderstorms through the evening wihe a low of 72 degrees.
So do yourself a favor. If you haven't already, put your soul on ice and keep it there.
If you must venture out, drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and keep an eye on the very young and the elderly who are most susceptible to heat-related ailments.
