TALK TO US: Being a soldier at war

In 2005, members of the Alpha Company lost six of their men in bomb blasts in Iraq. Of 131 living men on Alpha’s Iraq roster, The Inquirer reached 130 of them for a story about that experience and the resulting effect once they returned home. Of the 126 men who responded to our questions, 46 percent said they had been treated for post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. This rate is much higher than what the Defense Department reports for most Iraq war veterans.

This discussion board is for vets, their families and others to talk about their experiences. Click here to easily log in or register to join the discussion, or sign on as a guest to read more.
