Man struck and killed by SEPTA train near 30th Street Station

A man was killed Sunday night after being struck by a SEPTA Regional Rail train near 30th Street Station.

The man, whose identity was not available, was hit at 9:50 p.m. on tracks near the station by a train coming in from Trenton. Why the man was on the tracks is part of an investigation being conducted by city police and SEPTA, representatives from both agencies said Sunday night.

Rail traffic was disrupted for several hours while investigators worked the scene. - Jason Laughlin
