GoodTaste Rabbit Nachos

They look more like rabbit samosas than "rabbit nachos," but at Rae, chef Daniel Stern's menu listings can be mysteries wrapped in enigmas. In this case, crispy, fried puffs of house-made tortilla are stuffed with a tender, savory shred of rabbit leg that's cured, smoked and braised, then tossed with tangy hints of aged cheddar. Served with a mild, creamy jalapeno dip, an order of six can be a starter for two - if you're lucky.

- Rick Nichols

Rabbit nachos, $14 for appetizer of six, at Rae, ground floor of the Cira Centre, 2929 Arch St., across from 30th Street Station. 215-922-3839.
