Bob Dylan: Ain't coming!

Master versifier Bob Dylan, 75, the first pop singer ever to win the Nobel Prize for literature, has informed the Nobel committee he won't attend the Dec. 10 award ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden.

"He wishes he could receive the prize personally, but other commitments make it unfortunately impossible," the Swedish Academy announced on Wednesday.

But Dylan isn't doing a Jean-Paul Sartre: Unlike the French philosopher who refused to accept the 1964 award for literature on principle, Dylan says he's overjoyed - after stonewalling the media for weeks.

Dylan made headlines for his apparent refusal to comment on his selection. "The news about the Nobel Prize left me speechless," he finally told the Swedish Academy. "I appreciate the honor so much."

And he told British paper the Telegraph, "Whoever dreams about something like that?" He even said he'd try to go if his schedule permitted.

Shameless, says Rossum

Emily Rossum is concerned the heated election campaign rhetoric hasn't subsided since Donald Trump's election triumph. The Shameless star is one of a raft of celeb Hillary Clinton supporters who have been targeted by Trump fans in a social-media onslaught.

"Trump supporters are sending me messages threatening to send me & my 'ilk' to the gas chambers & writing hashtags like '#sieg hiel [sic]'," writes Rossum, who is Jewish. "NOT OK."

As I lay gossiping

TBS has renewed Samantha Bee's Full Frontal for a second season. It'll move to Wednesday nights when it returns Jan. 11. . . . Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, and their twin sons, Max and Bob, 7, are safe, E! News reports. Police in Salt Lake City, Utah, were out in search of Mueller after she had a fight with the kids' nanny at a local bar. Mueller, who was barefoot and "disheveled," then took off, TMZ says. No arrests have been made. . . . Kendall Jenner tells Ellen DeGeneres she deleted her Instagram account because, "I just wanted to detox."
