Holiday favorite Based on the classic 1954 film (and the iconic Irving Berlin tune that was a hit for Bing Crosby), White Christmas gets a new stage production featuring other Berlin classics such as "Sisters" and "Snow." The show goes on at 1 and 6:30 p.m. today at the Academy of Music, Broad and Locust Streets, and continues with performances at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 and 6:30 p.m. next Sunday. Just Hub A founding member of the seminal Philly hip-hop group the Roots, bassist Leonard Nelson Hubbard (known to all as "Hub") was a key part of the band's sound. He stepped out on his own in 2007, setting up shop in his hometown, teaching at Settlement Music School, and composing. Hub plays his new stuff, with guest A. Drawn from a life The illustrations of Roger Hane, deftly combining the cartoony and the profound, will be familiar to anyone who read books by C.S. Lewis or Carlos Castaneda in the 1970s. A meticulous craftsman and prolific artist, he was still in his 30s when he was killed during a robbery in Central Park in 1974. A retrospective of Hane's work, including magazine images, book covers, record jackets, and advertisements, is at the University of the Arts' von Hess Illustration Gallery, 333 S. Solitary man B-movie director Budd Boetticher earned status as an auteur for his series of 1950s Westerns starring Randolph Scott as a lone hero amid a bleak landscape populated by the venal and cowardly. In The Tall T, Scott is a genial rancher who finds himself caught up in the ransom of an heiress and forced into a psychological battle with a brutal outlaw leader (Richard Boone). The 1957 film, based on an Elmore Leonard story, screens at 7:30 p.m. at the Chestnut Hill Library, 8711 Germantown Ave. Admission is free. Call 215-248-0977.
