Sideshow: It's no dream: Boyle's CD is No. 1

Frumpy or not, Scottish diva Susan Boyle, 48, this week soared to No. 1 on Amazon.com's CD sales list with her debut album I Dreamed a Dream - which isn't due till Nov. 24.

Boyle, who was runner-up on Britain's Got Talent, has pushed Whitney Houston's mega-hyped comeback CD, I Look to You, to No. 2.

Gunn guns down evil outfits

Tim Gunn, Project Runway's equivalent of Yoda, has been transmogrified into a superhero in the new Marvel comic book, Loaded Gunn.

Gunn, 56, says he was shocked when he was approached with the idea. "It's exciting and exhilarating, but bizarre," he said of the experience. "Most superheroes are fighting the same thing - good vs. evil - but who's taking on crimes against fashion? Me!"

Gunn unleashed his powers Wednesday, decreeing that fashion criminal Jon Gosselin is contributing to "the slobification of America."

Saying goodbye to the deejay

Famed music impresario DJ AM, who was born in Philly as Adam Goldstein and died Aug. 28 in L.A. at the age of 36, was honored Thursday night at a memorial service at the Palladium nightclub in L.A., reports Life & Style Weekly.

Luminaries included Goldstein's former fiancée, Nicole Richie, and friends Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart.

"He was my soul mate and now he is my soul," said Goldstein's gf, Hayley Wood. "He is my amazing grace."

Shia's new belle

Shia LaBeouf, who may or may not have dated Megan Fox, is seeing Brit thesp Carey Mulligan, 24, says People. They have "been spotted cuddling and kissing" on the set of Oliver Stone's Money Never Sleeps.

I am Marilyn being mad

Speaking of Fox - in a creepazoid interview, she tells Wonderland mag that she's convinced she has had, has, or will have a "mental problem."

MF says she's so much a reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe (so modest, that Megan!) that she fears she'll develop MM's maladies of the soul.

"I could end up like that because I constantly struggle with the idea that I think I'm a borderline personality - or that I have bouts of mild schizophrenia," Megan says.

Sports talker McDonald is gone

With seven minutes left in his midday show yesterday, veteran sports talker Jody McDonald announced that he was leaving 950ESPN (WPEN-AM). "This is the last show I will be doing for this radio station. . . . The radio station has decided to go in another direction, and I'm perfectly fine with that," he said.

"It has been my pleasure talking to you, the Philadelphia sports fan, for the last four years."

McDonald, who has lived in Philly for 19 years, will continue with a couple of part-time gigs in the area.

Relighting their fire

Reality TV divorcé Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo, who broke up in June, are back together! They were seen smooching, holding hands, and being all googly-eyed last week in three cities - Lalaland, New York, and Cincinnati. But an anon source tells People the pair "are not officially back together," whatever that means. (Don't kids today just hook up, whatever that means?)
