Sideshow: Beyoncé postpones a show

Beyoncé has postponed her Oct. 25 concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after accusations by members of the conservative Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party that the show would be immoral and encourage "Western sexy performances."

Malaysian entertainment company Marctensia says the show was put off for other reasons. "The postponement is solely [the] decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons," it said. Beyoncé canceled a 2007 show in Malaysia after similar complaints.

Studios: Thou shalt not tweet

Film studios, which are increasingly concerned by leaks, have begun asking stars to stay off Twitter, lest hapless thesps reveal secret information about their forthcoming films, reports USAToday.com. London's Telegraph says some studios now insert a clause in their contracts forbidding actors from using Twitter and all networking sites to discuss their projects. Reportedly Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers, who will be filming the next Shrek sequel, had to sign such a contract.

NBC affiliates hate the 'Leno Effect'

Will Jay Leno's show survive the season?

The Los Angeles Times says many of NBC's 200 affiliates are complaining that Leno's ratings-poor new show, which airs at 10 p.m. weeknights, is hurting their 11 p.m. news programs. They argue that The Jay Leno Show has been a poor lead-in to their news shows, which provide local stations with up to a third of their annual revenue.

Hasselbeck, with smiling baby

Beloved View cohost Elisabeth Hasselbeck yesterday returned to the daily gabfest armed with stories about her third child with hubby Tim Hasselbeck.

The baby will "never be able to spell his own name, but that's fine," EH quipped about Isaiah Timothy Hasselbeck, born Aug. 8. "He's almost three months or so. He's good."

Things got a bit embarrassing when Elisabeth, 32, showed off a photo of a very happy, smiling Isaiah. When she looked at the pic again, she said, "No wonder he's smiling - my nipple is in the photo!"

Would you hire her?

Good to know that former GOP vice presidential candidate and late-night joke fodder Sarah Palin is getting on with her life. The Huffington Post says the former Alaska governor has posted her resume on the social-networking site LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com/in/governorsarahpalin).

On the site, Palin says she's interested in "job inquiries," "business deals," and "getting back in touch."

Palin's resumé notes that she graduated from the University of Idaho, but it does not mention that she attended four other colleges before she finished her degree. Her story, Going Rogue: An American Life, due Nov. 17, was the No. 4 best seller on Amazon.com last night.

Life lessons from George Clooney

It is time to weep - weep! - for George Clooney. The dude, it seems, has known the agony of social isolation, the misery of loneliness.

"I've been in some relationships where I've felt terribly alone," GC tells London tabloid Daily Mirror. "Just because you're with someone it doesn't mean you're incredibly happy and complete." Wise words, those.

Life is not all bad. "I've had some absolutely great relationships," says George, 48, who is dating 31-year-old Elisabetta Canalis. Human experience, GC adds, is shared by all humans. "I don't think my experiences are any different than anybody else's. . . . They've just been amplified a little more."

He's also aware that humans are mortal. "I'm kind of comfortable with getting older because it's better than the other option, which is being dead."

Kristin Bell worries about her voice

The lovely and talented Kristin Bell (Heroes, Veronica Mars) tells USA Today that doing voice work for animated films can be dangerous to your health. You can end up hating your own voice. "I can't even hear it on an answering machine. I throw the phone across the room. It's too high-pitched. I hear it all day, every day, so I'm over it," says Bell, 29, who enunciates the aural being of Cora in the animated romp Astro Boy, which opens Friday.

We're all celebrities!

"It was revealed this week that the cast of the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice will include Sharon Osbourne, Sinbad, and Rod Blagojevich. I think we've finally reached the point in our society where celebrity just means mammal." Thus said sagacious media critic Seth Meyers on Saturday Night Live.

A duet at the CMA Awards

Dave Matthews will join Kenny Chesney on stage Nov. 11 at the 43d Annual CMA Awards in Nashville to perform the duo's "I'm Alive," which appears on Chesney's Lucky Old Sun CD. Other artists will include Brooks & Dunn, Billy Currington, Vince Gill and Daughtry, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood.

Hewitt: Rumors hurt

If you care at all about her, don't repeat those rumors that Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt and her funny-guy bf, Jamie Kennedy, are breaking up after eight months.

"I'm not going to lie - it's not annoying, it's hurtful," Hewitt, 30, tells People. "I really hate that people would make it seem like he's not really a good guy, and not treating me well. He treats me very well."
