On the Boards

Academy of Vocal Arts, a Philadelphia nonprofit organization that provides tuition-free vocal and opera training to young singers, has elected four new members to its board:

Joseph D. Blair, president and chief executive officer of Millennium Wealth Management and Private Banking, executive vice president of Harleysville National Corp.

Martin G. Janowiecki, tax leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P.'s private company services practice.

Elizabeth A. Murphy, director of governmental and external affairs for Peco Energy Co.

Susan E. Sherman, president and CEO of the Independence Foundation, Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Hospitality, a private, nonprofit organization that promotes this region as a travel destination, has elected the following to its board:

Marlene Brenner Ferguson, corporate secretary of the board of directors of City Trusts; member, women's board, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital; member, Devon Horse Show board; and chairwoman, Philadelphia Charity Ball Program.

R. Carter Caldwell, principal, Cross Atlantic Capital Partners, and board member/cofounder of Quazant Technology Inc., Houston.

Gregory Paul Montanaro, executive director, Center for Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism, and Homeland Security at the Foreign Policy Research Institute; senior consultant at Roscommon International.

Kenneth Wong, president of CIG Asia Ltd., Philadelphia; president/owner, China Power & Light Inc., Philadelphia.

Robert H. Louis has been elected president of the Philadelphia-based Senior Artists Initiative, a nonprofit cultural organization that supports senior artists. He is a partner and co-chair of the Personal Wealth, Estates and Trusts Department at Saul Ewing L.L.P., Philadelphia.

Louis W. Fryman, a shareholder with the Philadelphia firm of Conrad, O'Brien, Gellman & Rohn P.C., has been named president of the Louis D. Brandeis Foundation, the charitable arm of the Brandeis Law Society of Philadelphia. He will help the foundation raise money for scholarships for law students and other charitable efforts.

Mark Ashton, a partner in the family law practice of Fox Rothschild L.L.P. and resident in the firm's Exton office, has been named president of Historic Yellow Springs, a nonprofit Chester County cultural organization. He will serve a two-year term.

Harris T. Bock has been named president of Boys Town Jerusalem's Mid-Atlantic Region, whose aim is to educate Israel's next generation of leaders in technology, commerce, education, the military, and public services. He is director of the Dispute Resolution Institute.
