McCabe was among the 4,500-member-strong union to arrive last night for a vote on a contract offer from Acme Markets Inc. Union officials - who were expecting a long and contentious session - hoped the workers would reject Acme's "last best offer." UFCW said it would not go on strike, but it feared a potential lockout could empty 41 stores of workers in Southeastern Pennsylvania come July 10.
