Sanjiv Karani was named vice president, global product management and innovation. Karani had been executive director, product management and innovation with Convergys Corp. in Cincinnati.

Dea Lawrence has been named regional vice president, western sales. She been vice president of sales with the Variety Online Group.

Right Management, the Philadelphia-based wholly owned subsidiary of Manpower Inc., promoted Paul Straub to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Straub had been senior vice president of global finance for Right, which provides outplacement and other human-resource consulting services.

Also, Stephen L. Cohen has joined Right Management as senior vice president, global product management. He had been vice president, service university project, for Carlson Cos. Inc.

ACCO Brands named Martha A. Curren vice president and general manager of its Day-Timer business for the U.S., Canadian and international marketplace. Curren had been president of Goebel of North America, a gifts and collectibles company.

Hill International, a Marlton project- and construction-management company, said Aileen R. Schwartz had joined the firm as assistant general counsel. Schwartz had been general counsel for the Quaker Group, a Voorhees real estate development, property-management and finance organization.

Grant Thornton L.L.P. named Michael Sorelle executive director of the accounting and advisory firm's health-care practice in Philadelphia. Sorrelle had been with Ernst & Young in Philadelphia.

Andrew Finkle joined Grant Thornton Philadelphia office as a tax partner. He had been a senior manager in KPMG's mergers and acquisitions tax practice in Atlanta.

Tim Bower has been promoted to vice president of new business development for Fernley & Fernley Inc., a Philadelphia association management company. He had been director of new business development.

Commerce Insurance Services, a Cherry Hill insurance brokerage, named Heather A. Steinmiller senior vice president, general counsel. Steinmiller had been staff counsel for Commerce Bank.
