Kind directs Abington over Cheltenham
Abington quarterback Sam Kind had his hand in the first three touchdowns scored by the visiting Galloping Ghosts in a 28-14 victory over Cheltenham Thursday.
Kind hit Kevin Deal with a 55-yard scoring pass, then found Anthony Hensley with a 43-yard touchdown pass to give Abington (8-3) a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. After Damin Finley scored on a 70-yard sprint for Cheltenham (3-9), Kind tallied on a 1-yard keeper to give his team a 21-7 first-quarter advantage.
Kind closed out the scoring with a 7-yard scoring toss to Hensley. Finley added a 29-yard touchdown run for the Panthers.
The Galloping Ghosts won for the third-straight year and lead the series, 5-2.
