The best team no longer playing, Notre Dame, completed a stellar Monday by beating host Baldwin, 2-0, and wrapping up a third-straight Inter-Ac League field hockey title.

University of Delaware-bound senior Bridget Burns scored both goals for the Irish, who now hand in the uniforms after going 18-1-1 overall and 11-0 in the league.

Notre Dame clinched a tie for the title last Friday in a win over Episcopal Academy and its win over Baldwin made that official.

Katie Gerzabek, a junior, assisted on both of the goals and Emily Fuss, a sophomore, needed to make only a pair of saves for the shutout.

Episcopal Academy needed an overtime to beat host Germantown Academy, 4-3. The Churchwomen had to rally to do it, as Kelsey Gula's goal in the second half cut the Germantown Academy lead to 3-2 and Maggie Forker scored on a penalty corner to send the game into overtime.

Kacey Hirtle then scored the game-winner, assisted by Avery Curley.

Ali Rosen scored the game's first two goals and host Penn Charter held on for a 3-2 win over Springside. Kelly Ragg also scored for the Quakers (9-8-1, 4-6-1).

Girls' Soccer

Kristen Robinson had 14 saves, including five diving stops, to lead Episcopal Academy to a 2-0 win at Germantown Academy in an Inter-Ac League battle for first place.

Kristin Lee and Taylor Trimble scored the goals for the Churchwomen (14-2-2, 9-0-2), who clinched the league title with two games left. Second-place Germantown Academy slipped to 12-8-1, 8-3-1.

Denise Cirelli scored a pair of unassisted goals as host Baldwin nipped Notre Dame, 2-1. Cirelli's final goal came with 19 minutes left in the second half with the game tied at 1-1.

Her first goal was the game's only goal of the first half and was answered by a second-half goal by Notre Dame's Kristen Bandos.

Bears' goalie Claire Hinkel turned back seven shots.

Blaine Steinberg's two goals were the difference for host Penn Charter in a 4-3 win over Springside.

Steinberg's second goal, with 20 minutes left in the second half, gave the Quakers (7-3-1) a 4-1 lead. Teammates Michelle Drosner and Katie Higgins also scored.
