Man, 71, killed by car in N.E. Phila.s
A car struck and fatally injured a 71-year-old man last night as he stepped off the center median at the intersection of Rhawn Street and Bustleton Avenue in Rhawnhurst.
The victim, identified as Vincent Parisano, was taken to Torresdale Hospital where he died of severe chest and head trauma.
Police said the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk when he was struck at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday evening.
The motorist, a 33-year-old male, remained at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation, police said, but no charges are pending.
