Moorestown teen cyclist dies in crash

A 17-year-old died today of injuries he suffered Monday evening when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in Moorestown, police said.

Authorities have not released the name of the teen, who was a Moorestown resident.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m., police said, when the teenager was biking on East Camden Avenue, near Pleasant Valley Avenue, and swerved in front of a Lexus. He was not wearing a helmet, police said.

He was airlifted to the trauma center at Cooper University Hospital in Camden after the accident.
