Lansdowne ready to celebrate the Fourth
Lansdowne's Fourth of July celebration begins with a parade at 9 a.m. featuring antique cars, bicycles, floats and marching bands. The parade heads north on Lansdowne Avenue between Stewart and Essex Avenues.
After the parade, awards will be presented, "Betsy Ross" will lead a flag salute, and state Sen. Anthony Williams will address the crowd at the Penn Wood High School football field.
There will be all-star baseball and softball games between members of the Lansdowne Boys and Girls Club at the Penn Wood and Ardmore Avenue School athletic fields beginning at noon.
At 7:45 p.m. there will be music and refreshments for sale at the Penn Wood football field preceeding fireworks at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person at the gate. - Inquirer staff
