Town hall meeting tonight over proposed Chesco pipeline expansion
With concern growing over a proposed pipeline expansion in central Chester County, a town hall meeting will be held tonight in the Great Valley High School auditorium with federal regulators and pipeline representatives.
The Williams Corp. delivers natural gas throughout the mid-Atlantic region through its Transco pipeline. The company is proposing to replace an existing 30-inch-diameter pipeline along more than seven miles of its route in the Downingtown region with a 42-inch-diameter pipeline. It is also seeking to expand its existing 75-foot-wide easement.
Williams representatives will be on hand with individual property plans to meet privately with landowners starting at 6:30 p.m., said U.S. Rep. Jim Gerlach (R., Pa.), who organized the event. The general meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.
Great Valley High School is at 225 N. Phoenixville Pike, Malvern.
