The city will announce at 11 this morning that Grammy-winner John Legend and Philadelphia's own Boyz II Men will be the major marquee names during July's Welcome America festivities.

Legend will fulfill the title of his latest album - Live From Philadelphia - at the July Fourth concert on the Parkway. Fireworks will follow, of course - weather permitting. The soul singer used his real name, John Stephens, when he was a student at the University of Pennsylvania in the late 1990s.

Boyz II Men will perform the following night, Saturday, July 5, before the pyrotechnics at Penn's Landing. The rhythm-and-blues crooners, who went to Philadelphia's High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, were among the best-selling recording artists of the 1990s.

Taste of Philadelphia, a food festival, will move from Independence Mall to Penn's Landing on July 5 and 6.

Later in the week, the Phillies will have two post-game fireworks displays - after the Wednesday, July 9, game against the St. Louis Cardinals and the Friday, July 11, game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Welcome America will run for 10 days.
