Candidates today: Q102, Daily Show, Palestra
Sen. Barack Obama's schedule, will which bring him to Montgomery County at noon, will be capped by an appearance on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show.
Here are today's events, in chronological order.
7:15 a.m., Hillary Clinton on Booker show. The New York senator appeared on The Booker Show in WIOQ (102.1 FM). Said Clinton: "I know this is going to be a very tight election." When asked by host Chris Booker, "Do you ever get close to losing it?" when debate moderators ask pointless questions, she said, "Yes, I do. Yes, I do." Generally, the 10-minute conversation was light, with Booker offering to let Hillary and Bill stay at his place to save on hotel money (the Secret Secret could stay on the deck) and suggesting, "The food must be really good at the White House, to want it this badly." "The food is pretty good," she replied, adding that what drives her, though, is caring deeply about the issues.
7:30 a.m., Barack Obama on Smerconish show. The Illinois senator spoke with Michael Smerconish on WPHT (1210 AM, "the Big Talker") about Pakistan, illegal immigration and other topics. (To listen, go to http://www.thebigtalker1210.com, and look for a link to the podcast on the right.)
8 a.m., Chelsea Clinton in Philadelphia. Rep. Allyson Schwartz will appear with Chelsea Clinton at the Frankford Transportation Center, Frankford Street (between Bridge Street and Pratt Street). Later, the former first daughter will be in Erie, Pa. (noon), and Gettysburg College (3:30 p.m.). Bill Clinton will has three western Pennsylvania stops today: Arnold (11:45 a.m.), Pittsburgh (1:30 p.m.) and Ebensburg (5:15 p.m.) Both will wind up in at the Penn rally tonight.
9 a.m., Hillary Clinton in Scranton. Scranton Cultural Center, Ballroom, 420 N. Washington Ave. Afterward, she's off to events in Pittsburgh (1:30 p.m.) and Harrisburg (5:30 p.m.).
Noon, Barack Obama in Blue Bell. He'll speak about issues for working families at Montgomery County Community College's College Hall, 340 DeKalb Pike. Later, he'll be in McKeesport (6 p.m) and Pittsburgh (9:30 p.m.).
8:30 p.m., Hillary Clinton on MSNBC's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann."
9 p.m., Hillary Clinton on CNN's "Larry King Live."
10 p.m., the Clintons at the Palestra. Hillary, Bill and Chelsea will host a rally at the University of Pennsylvania's historic arena, 33d Street between Spruce and Walnut. Doors open at 8 p.m.
11. p.m., Barack Obama on "The Daily Show." A promo for Jon Stewart's Comedy Central take on the news says his guest will be: "Well-Known Secret Muslim/Terrorist Coddler/Hunky Senator Barack Obama ... This is it, folks. Barackmaggedon."
