Penn Jersey Paper gets new HQ, KOZ benefit

Penn Jersey Paper Co. will move to a new corporate headquarters and distribution center in Northeast Philadelphia, on a 30-acre site that will give the privately owned company 10 years of Keystone Opportunity Zone tax abatements.

PJP is moving 250 jobs about 2 miles from Red Lion Road to Blue Grass Road, where a 255,336-square-foot facility was built by Dermody Properties.

PJP signed a 15-year lease for the facility and will begin operating in the new location May 17, according to Dermody, which is headquartered in Reno, Nev., and has an office in Philadelphia.

Penn Jersey, founded in 1964, also considered sites in South Jersey and in Bristol, said Glenn Harbison, the company's director of marketing.

Penn Jersey is an integrated distributor of packaging, paper, janitorial chemicals, restaurant equipment, and supplies.    - Harold Brubaker
