Kenexa’s 3Q revenues decline 25%

Kenexa Corp., the Wayne-based human-resource software company, saw revenues decline to $40.3 million from $54 million in the third quarter of 2008.

Nine-month revenues fell to $118.6 million from $158.7 million.

Third-quarter profits also fell, to $1.6 million, or 7 cents a share, from $5.4 million, or 24 cents a share in the comparable quarter of 2008. The company reported a loss of $31.4 million ($1.39 a shares) for the nine-month period, compared with a profit of $16.2 million (74 cents a share) for the nine months.

Third-quarter revenues did rise slightly, up from $39.5 million in the second quarter.

"From a macro perspective, we expect to continue facing headwinds until the unemployment rate stabilizes," chief executive Rudy Karsan said in a statement.    - Jane M. Von Bergen
