3 papers may drop Saturday issues
The economic downturn may force the Bucks County Courier Times, the Intelligencer in Doylestown and the Burlington County Times to stop publishing their Saturday issues, staffers were recently told.
Michael Scobey, chief operating officer of parent company Calkins Media Inc. and publisher of the three papers, said that the plan is under consideration, but that no final decision would be made until next week. Calkins is based in Levittown. - Jane M. Von Bergen
