Pennsauken firm gets OSHA citation
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Pepsi-Cola and National Brand Beverage Ltd. of Pennsauken with $195,000 in penalties for alleged workplace safety and health violations.
OSHA's Marlton office began an investigation April 1 after receiving a complaint that employees were exposed to safety hazards on machinery used to stack and transport pallets, according to a news release. Following the probe, OSHA cited the company for three safety hazards in violation of OSHA standards and regulations.
The company has 15 days to contest the citations to an independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
Bob Brockway, company president, said: "We take any OSHA finding very seriously. We are committed to the safety of our employees and we are working with OSHA right now to identify what deficiencies need to be corrected and we will correct them."
