Methacton Girl's Track Team
QAre you aware that Methacton High School (Norristown, PA) has their women's 4 x 400 relay track team appearing at the Nationals in Andover, MD, as well as their star performer, Ryann Krais, who is in the pentathalon as well as other events in which she has set state records? It would be nice to see some coverage or a note about Methacton's girls in the Inquirer

Pennsbury vs Chester
QPennsbury lost 6 talented seniors to graduation and are still in the final four in the state. Their sophomore point guard Krasna was amazing in the last two games vs Liberty and Ridley. With so much youth, do you think Pennsbury can upset Chester?
Walter, Levittown, PA 03/12/08
A
Anything is possible. Guards Jesse Krasna and Ed DiRugeris must have career-like performances, though. Pennsbury must also slow down the tempo and keep Chester off the boards. But, that is easier said than done.

Prediction
QI noticed you chose Chester and Norristown to be in the state final. I like Norristown, they have an uncanny cohesiveness and knowledge of the game that is incredible. What did you see that made you choose them?
aschell, west norriton, PA 03/11/08
A
I used to think
Norristown was a little over-hyped. But the Eagles showed me a lot during their District 1 Class AAAA championship loss to
Chester .
Norristown didn’t back down and kept things close until late in the game. At that point, I realized the Eagles have what it takes to reach the championship. Their desire, team balance and relentless defensive pressure are superior to the other western-bracket teams.

BARTRAM BRAVES
Qwhy is Novar Gadson not ranked top ten in class of 2008? WHAT DO YOU THINK THE BARTRAM BRAVES WILL DO NEXT YEAR?
DRICE , PHILADELPHIA , PA 03/11/08
A
If you are referring to the Nifty Fifty, we rank players regardless of class. As a result, we have freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors on the list. Players are ranked based on how they project on the next level. Players that are high-major prospects are, in most instances, ranked above mid- to low-major recruits.
To answer you second question, I think the Maroon Wave will have another great season.

tournament basketball
Qwhy is Norristown playing a team from western pa (moon twp)isn't it suppose to be east vs east till the championship game ? moon is 50 miles Northwest from downtown Pittsburgh.
Marty, bordentown, NJ 03/11/08
ASince Norristown was the District 1 Class AAAA tournament runner-up, it was shipped out the western side of the bracket.

Pennsbury
QPennsbury has made it to the Class AAAA state semifinals with mostly juniors. Are they the favorites for next year's state champs?
Anonymous, Phoenixville, PA 03/09/08
A
That's a hard question to answer. Penn Wood had a young team. Schenley and Harrisburg were rebuilding this season. Southern was made up of mostly sophomores and juniors. All four of those teams advanced to the state tournament.
You would have to consider Pennsbury a favorite to advance far in the postseason. But it is too early to say if the Falcons will or will not win next season's state title.

Pennsbury/Ridley
QDo you agree that Ridley's Steven Egee just didn't show up to play in that game? Also it looks as if the sate championship will be another Chester verses Norristown matchup. Do you think Norristown has a chance of pulling off an upset victory?
Anonymous, Ridley, PA 03/08/08
A
I didn't see the Pennsbury/Ridley game. As a result, I can't make a comment about Steven Egee's performance. However, Pennsbury is a very good team and is very well coached. Egee still managed to score 13 points. So it's hard to say that he didn't show up.
In regards to your second question, I think Chester will beat Norristown for the second time this season in an all-District 1 state final, assuming both teams advance.
